Twin Lakes on Mt.
Hood –
Snow Camp!
1-night backpacking high adventure for scouts 13 and over or First Class rank
Get ready for an epic adventure as we trek 2 miles up the trail, gaining 500 feet in elevation, to our stunning campsite at Lower Twin Lake! We'll be hiking with our packs and snowshoes, navigating through the snowy wilderness. Once we arrive, you'll have the choice to camp in cozy tents or dig your own snow cave for a true winter experience! And don’t forget—this trip comes with jaw-dropping views of Mount Hood, where you’ll catch both the sunset and dawn up close. This outing is for older, experienced scouts who’ve already tackled at least one slush camp. It’s going to be a blast—don’t miss it!

Enjoy a day of snow fun near the stunning Mount Hood, followed by a cozy evening of cooking and relaxing indoors in the heated comfort of a rustic private lodge near Government Camp. This is always a huge hit with the scouts! After returning to Portland on Sunday afternoon, scouts will head out to distribute flyers in the neighborhood for the Scouting for Food drive. It's a perfect mix of adventure and giving back!

Scouts will walk through the Stephenson neighborhood, collecting food donations left outside homes as part of their commitment to doing a good turn. After gathering the donations, the troop will deliver them to a local food bank, helping to support those in need and making a positive impact in the community. It's a great way to put scouting values into action and give back to those who need it most!

Embark on a thrilling high adventure backpacking trip to the majestic Deschutes River State Recreation Area, near Biggs, OR! Hike 6 miles to a remote trail camp, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and experience the true spirit of adventure. After a night under the stars, you’ll make your way back, completing this epic trek the following day.

For National Trails Day, scouts will give back to our local environment by helping with park maintenance. This year, we’re likely heading to Springbrook City Park in Lake Oswego, where we’ll be laying fresh gravel on the trails, improving the park for everyone to enjoy. It’s a great opportunity to get outdoors, make a difference, and contribute to the beauty of our community!

Bike Camp at Stub Stewart St. Park

Scouts will bring their bikes to explore the miles of paved trails at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park, enjoying a day of outdoor adventure. After the ride, we'll set up camp, cook up some delicious meals, and have a blast with plenty of fun activities!

Scouts will celebrate Independence Day by marching in the Lake Oswego Star Spangled Parade in their Class A uniforms, spreading joy and handing out candy to parade-goers! It’s a fun way to show scout pride and be part of the community celebration!

Summer camp is the high point of the scouting year.
Adventure and unforgettable experiences lie ahead for older Scouts and leaders at Camp Pigott! Many merit badges can be completed at the archery and rifle ranges, the aquatics area, and the craft lodge. Take advantage of the challenging COPE course, Climbing Wall, mountain bike course or metal working shop.

San Juan Islands cycling adventure
5-day, 4-night adventure trip for scouts 13 or older or First Class rank
Enjoy camping, cycling, and exciting activities on one of the beautiful San Juan Islands (location to be determined)!

Cottonwood Canyon State Park, Wasco, OR

Experience two nights of camping in the stunning Cottonwood Canyon State Park, located in the John Day River Gorge. We'll start with car camping on the first night, then embark on a day hike or backpacking adventure on day two. For those seeking a bit more of a challenge, some scouts will have the option to camp on the trail for the second night, making it an unforgettable outdoor experience!

Super Weekend is an exciting council-organized event that brings together hundreds of scouts at the incredible BSA Camp Meriwether on the stunning Oregon Coast near Tillamook, OR. Enjoy hiking along the beach, shooting at the rifle range, mastering campcraft skills, and gathering around the campfire. After a day full of adventure, you’ll sleep in cozy Adirondacks, making for an unforgettable weekend!

All Scouts
Scouts will sleep in outdoor Adirondack shelters instead of tents, adding a unique twist to their camping experience. The adventure includes a horseback riding trek led by expert ranch wranglers, offering a memorable ride through scenic trails. This trip is always a favorite among the scouts! Whenever possible, we also invite local Webelos Cub Scouts and their parents to join us, giving them the chance to experience all that Troop 221 has to offer!

Test your “Grit” on a wilderness backpacking adventure with cold weather camping by the river. The trip includes a 2 to 3-mile uphill hike to camp, so some prior hiking and camping experience is needed. Once at camp, enjoy games and stories around the campfire. This “Slush” camp serves as required training for any scout who wants to attend “Snow camp” in January, preparing you for an unforgettable winter experience!
